Research & Development

In order to respond in a tangible way to the demands of the watch industry and to the aspirations of the world of research and training, TIMELAB has created a centre for Research & Development, which groups two activities:

  • advice, testing and development
  • metrological service

TIMELAB unites engineers and experts in the field of watchmaking and microengineering in order to offer concrete solutions that are efficient and adapted to the problem at hand.

Advice, testing and development

Any company can request the assistance of TIMELAB’s Research & Development centre for a project which requires expertise in watchmaking or microengineering. Each project that is submitted to TIMELAB is studied by the technical and scientific commission, which is comprised of experts who represent various fields of activity (watchmaking, medical, bio-medical, astronomy etc.) and who give their verdict on the feasibility of the project.

These projects can take place in collaboration with certain partners, such as professional training centres, colleges, specialised schools for higher education and universities.

Metrological service

TIMELAB also offers a metrological service, which has the advantage of providing a totally independent control for measuring the characteristics of a movement or a watch. The tests can either control the conditions required for a particular norm or standard (ISO; NIHS etc.) or check any specific requirements for a client. 

Thanks to this activity, TIMELAB is offering a service for measuring and observing pieces, without interruption, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Any company which needs such a service, whether in its entirety or partially, can ask TIMELAB to provide a final report detailing all the registered results.
